Actiontec GT701 Transparent Bridge Setup
1. Make sure your computer is turned on, and both it and the Actiontec modem have their power cords plugged in. Use the yellow cable (or a regular Ethernet cable) to connect the Ethernet card in your computer with the port labeled 1 on the Actiontec DSL Router
2. Double check your computer's TCP/IP settings for it's Ethernet card. Make sure that it is set to Obtain (its) IP address Automatically (using DHCP).
3. Open your Internet Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, Mozilla or other) and enter this address in the Address Bar: http://192.168.0.1 That brings up the Actiontec's Main Menu

Choose "Setup/Configuration" from the Main Menu




Look at the Left-Side Menu bar of the Set Up/ Configuration window, and choose "Advanced Setup"




Click on the "Begin Advanced Setup" button

On the WAN IP Address screen choose "Transparent Bridging" From the left-hand menu bar, click on Save and Restart




The bottom of this screen may look like this: (You don't need to set any of these options).




In the Save and Restart window, click on the "Save and Restart" button




10. The Congratulations window appears while your settings are being saved. Once the Power light stops blinking the new settings have been saved, and you should be able to surf the web.
